A Name Change

Jenna and I had a discussion the other day about Kenzie's name. I told her that her real name is MaKenzie and we just call her Kenzie. We then started talking about how my real name is Melissa. After that she wanted to know what her real name is. Disappointed and a little perturbed when she found out that Jenna was it, she said that she wanted her real name to be MaJenna. She's insisted ever since that is her real name. So I would like introduce you to

My Effort

Jenna's favorite show right now is Scooby Doo. I think it's a little scary for a 4 year old, but she seems to handle it okay. Yesterday at the library she found Scooby Doo with real people. I was a little hesitant but it seemed cheesy enough. I should have followed my instinct(the spirit), she was up a couple of times last scared.
Calvin likes to teach her things about medicine and the other day was explaining bacteria and infections. Later she started talking about erections on her arm. I was a little confused at first, as I'm sure you can imagine, until I figured out she was talking about getting an INFECTION on her arm. So cute.
Also while being dressed up in full princess gear Kenzie stole a toy from her and she yells, "Guards!"

Snow Princess

This little project comes from a book we bought at a garage sale. Jenna has been wanting to make it forever. Calvin caved and made the crown and I helped put together the rest.

Dearborn Fire Department

Jenna's Preschool took a trip to the fire department last month. We were so glad Calvin had a few hours before work that he could come with us. Love that Jenna could see a fire fighter with all his gear and the sound of the air. Hopefully a fire fighter won't seem scary if we ever do have a fire.

Fall in Michigan

There are an insane amount of leaves that fall here in Michigan. In fact almost everyone will just blow them to the side of the road(yes, a leaf blower is necessary) and the street sweeper takes them away.

Calder Dairy

Calder Dairy is a farm and dairy just south of us. You can buy feed for the animals, eat ice cream made from their dairy cows, and watch them milk the cows. The kids love it!
The donkey started braying and it scared the living daylights out of Kenzie. Truthfully, it was hilarious. Those donkeys can be loud.

While watching the cows being milked Jenna started dry heaving from the smell.

Horse --> Unicorn

After Calvin turned Jenna's horse into a unicorn she wanted to show me.

She said, "It's not her birthday, it's a unicorn!"

Thirsty Tornadoes and Big Bums

Since my freakout with the tornado threat(read leaving Kirksville a few posts down) Jenna has been obsessed with tornadoes. The other day she told me while making her hands like a mouth to her face that tornadoes are thirsty. They drink the rain and later she added that they drink the ocean too.

Jenna is so excited about turning 4. She knows that Calvin's birthday is first and then hers. Yesterday she told me that her bum is getting bigger and bigger. It's growing and growing. I had to make sure I heard right and sure enough her bum is getting bigger and bigger. A few minutes after she asked me what Daddy's bum looks like.
